You know you're having fun when you could literally use your Shoryuken to solve everything Cats up a tree, Shoryuken the tree, breaking into an office to steal evidence of smuggling, Stand on a desk on the floor below and shoryuken through the ceiling, giant mecha-your solution involves a fist, a jump and spinning.įrom my experience with these games, hex grids are better for strategic, not tactical, the layout is awkward when you apply it to combat at the individual level. The short-lived Street Fighter RPG by whitewolf also ran on hex grids, it was the clunkiest thing ever produced by them, but it had that Narm charm to it with the over the top aspects of street fighter coupled with what RPGs let you do.
Old, like really old, Battletech ran on hex grids, though many people moved to the miniatures game which ran a bit more like a normal miniatures wargame so the most recent products from the reboot project suit them more.
